Au Mont-Saint-Michel ont lieu les plus grandes marées de l’Europe continentale, jusqu’à 15 mètres de différence entre basse et haute mer. Lors des grandes marées, la mer se retire à 15 kilomètres des côtes et remonte très rapidement.Afin d’observer le phénomène de la marée montante et l’arrivée du mascaret, il faut être présent 2 heures avant l’horaire de pleine mer.
Le Marathon du Mont-Saint-Michel
